Hi-Liner Softball Dominates Maple River
The Valley City Hi-Liners softball girls didn’t just win—they overwhelmed.
Behind a massive second inning and a relentless offensive approach, Valley City rolled past Maple River 25–8, putting together one of their most explosive performances of the season.
The Hi-Liners broke things open early, plating 13 runs in the second inning, and never looked back. From that point on, it was constant pressure—quality at-bats, and forcing Maple River to try and keep up.
And then came the moments.
Bethani Schuldheisz delivered one of the highlights of the day, ripping a true inside-the-park grand slam—no errors, no misplays, just speed and execution. Not long after, Ellie Altringer added another exclamation point, with another in the park home run.
That kind of production was felt throughout the lineup.
Valley City finished with 14 hits and 25 runs, with multiple players contributing across the board. Altringer led the way with a huge day at the plate, while Schuldheisz’s grand slam helped turn a strong inning into a game-breaking one.
Even more impressive—the Hi-Liners managed the performance while adjusting on the fly.
Due to injuries during the game, Valley City shuffled players into different positions, but never lost rhythm. The offense stayed aggressive, and defensively they did enough to keep Maple River from gaining any real momentum.
This wasn’t just a win—it was a response.
A team finding rhythm, adjusting under pressure, and showing what they’re capable of when everything clicks.
The Hi-Liners now 6-3 on the season, will play in a midseason tournment at UND’s Albrecht Field on Saturday May 2nd at 9am & 1pm.
